Louie and Connie Pack Their Suitcases

Louie and Connie Start Packing Their Toys and Their Diary

“Louie, Connie, go get all of your toys and treats. We are leaving England in the next few days to sail to America,” said Rose. This is the book or rather the diary that Louie and Connie wrote so many years ago. The two cats came to America long, long ago, in 1620. They had lived in Plymouth, England with a man named Myles Standish and his wife Rose.

What? I don’t want to leave England and sail to America,” Louie cried.

“Oh, Louie, please, just this once don’t question me. Just get your things and come into the parlor.

“But Rose, I don’t want to go anywhere.”

“All right, Louie, let me explain. Myles has been given a new post. That is, he is to become the military advisor to all of the Pilgrims sailing to America on the Mayflower.”

“What is the Mayflower, Rose?”

“It is a passenger ship, Louie; go get your things.”

“Oh, all right, if you say so, Rose.”

A few days before the ship was going to sail, Louie and Connie wandered one more time into Caspar

Forest, their favorite place to play. They had to tell their friend Salomay goodbye.

Salomay was a witch, not a scary mean one, but a nice one. She took care of all of the small animals in Caspar Forest. With her gold wand, Salomay helped Eddy the golden eagle to fly again just by waving her magic stick over Eddy’s broken wings. She also gave Ronnie the jack rabbit a new, fuzzy, white tail after it had been bitten off by a fox.

Salomay had a crystal ball that she always carried with her.

Louie and Connie with Their Diary

“I want to give you something, Louie, Connie. It is a diary that I made just for the two of you to take to America. I am granting you nine lives, and I want you to write in the book about all your adventures during each life. You two must always stay very close to each other and don’t leave each other’s side for too long. And remember to always do good for others, always.”
